It’s our inaugural edition of Halloween Havoc here at FRED, and we kick things of with Stan Lee reading Edgar Allan Poe’s THE RAVEN. ‘Nuff said.

OMG, I have goosebumps – what an INCREDIBLE reading!!! *Thank you* Quickstop & thank you Stan Lee!!! I still can remember most of The Raven, memorized it fully years ago. Love Poe, my most treasured books are a 1909 10-volume set containing *all* his works, not only the well-known horror tales, but his humor, essays, etc.

Listening to this over & over — I wish there was a way to save it! Ooooh, just gives me shivers, thanks again QS & Mr. Lee – what a TREAT!!!! I hope you leave this online for a little while, so I can keep watching it!

  23. […] Halloween Havoc 2008: Stan Lee Presents THE RAVEN! » Quick Stop Entertainment – AMAZING. I'm a bit of a sucker for Poe, having attended various readings of his work by more people than I can count, and I have to say that this is one of my favorites. There's something about Stan Lee's voice that makes everything he says seem larger than life — so that, combined with the fact that it's "The Raven," folks, makes this a pretty brilliant Halloween gift. Thanks, Quick Stop! […]

  24. […] What better way to celebrate Hallowe’en than listening to one of the greatest poems of all time read by one of the greatest orators of all time? That’s be great, but sadly, James Earl Jones couldn’t show up, so we’re left with Marvel Comics creator – and narrator of Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends – Stan Lee reading Edgar Allen Poe’s The Raven as your special October 31st treat. Heh, Awesome almost as cool as the Spider-man Rock Opera he did the voices between songs for back in the day.
Actually i think doing the Raven may slightly pip it at the post.
I wonder if Lou Reed has heard it? as he did a version a few years back.
