Adult Swim’s Dana Snyder and FRED’s Ken Plume set out to have a literate conversation between two pals, but inevitably devolve into a verbal, and funny, free-for-all full of bickering, infighting, and the special kind of male bonding that comes from conflict expressed through the podcast medium.

Actor/comedian/raconteur Dana Snyder, you’re certainly aware, is Aqua Teen Hunger Force’s Master Shake, Squidbillies‘ Granny, Minoriteam’s Dr. Wang, and The Venture Bros.‘ Alchemist. Available for weddings and bar mitzvahs (bat availability pending), you can keep tabs on him via his website, www.eyeofthesnyder.com.

Ken Plume is the editor-in-chief here at FRED. He is a friend of Dana’s, as well as his arch-nemesis.

  3. John J. Says:

FYI: [adult swim] was in it’s second week of broadcast during 9/11. They aired the second ATHF ep the Thursday following. December 30th, 2000 was when the “stealth pilot” of Aqua Teen aired…. 2 years to the day before http://www.aquateencentral.com was launched.

Yippee! Another fun filled day at work, Monday!
Thanks guys! Hey Dana, Ken, you should do a Snydecast sketch of some sort on Tim & Eric Awsome show. Here’s an idea for it. You guys could be AT YOUR HOMES or where ever you do the cast at… Tim & Eric are listening to it…
(live, even though no one listens to it live. Orrr do they?)
one of you says something about Tim or Eric having a big nose or goofy eyes or some shit like that.
Then instantly Tim or Eric’s nose gets huge, via their “better than Lucas” video effects, of course.
Hey, just an idea and I got lots of’em!
    Love, germ

Re: Francis from Pee-Wee. I thought it WAS Paul Dooley.

  7. Matt Says:

John above is VERY correct about the start of Adult Swim and Aqua Teen.

My story was that my brother and I were depressed about the whole 9/11 situation like everyone else, and we remembered: hey, that Space Ghost show was funny, I wonder if it’s still on. And so, we set up an EP VHS to record all of the Adult Swim block. We found no Tad Ghostal. But we were treated instead with the Rabbot, and a cup that no one will ever forget.

The MOST fucked up thing though, was the old-school 1940s cartoon which followed Adult Swim on that day. It was one of those comical construction scene things were someone invariably ends up in a concrete mixer, and there is lots of steel beam walking, etcetera. They were building the Empire State building: IT ENDED WITH THE FUCKING BUILDING COLLAPSING! This was on fucking September 16, 2001!

  8. Rudy Says:

    i find it interesting plumey…

just thought youd like to know 😉

  9. Sam Says:

AV Snyde-Casts would be awesome. As would an episode featuring Brian as a Special Guest. And I like how Sweety inadvertently deemed us “Snydes.” But what about the “Plumeys” out there? And yeah, this was your most “conversational” Snyde-Cast, you Chatty Kathys. Get some rest. 🙂

(Hope my logo’s mentioned. Preferably being bashed by Doc.)

PS: “Things And Stuff” should be an episodic feature in which Ken tells us what he has to do for the day.

  10. Douglas Waltz Says:

    Ken & Dana,
Another fascinating snydecast and a visit from Sweetie is always a reason to listen. That woman has a voice that could melt butter. The only thing that could make this show better is if it were daily, but I already know that ain’t happening.
    Have a good week sirs.
