SModcast is the meandering palaver of a pair of dudes whose voices are so dull, they don’t deserve to be on the radio (and, hence, aren’t). Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier are SModcast.

The best thing about SModcast? It don’t cost nothing.

SModcast 22: Schwalcast –

The return of the distaff, in which our heroes talk about the likelihood of running into former intimates at ComiCon, the bending of the space/time continuum in an effort to bed a younger version of your spouse, why divorce is not an option, inappropriate hugging of the famous, Marion Ravenwood: gender traitor, shame-shorts, insecurities both founded and unfounded, middle-aged proms, the world wide hairshirt, and Shecky.

[CONTENT WARNING] SModcast features harsh language and even harsher notions of propriety. Listener discretion is advised.

Thanks, your entertainment has made my late night hours endurable. Starting your own company sounds great, but it is a bitch. My wife has put up with it, but the four year old kills me with the “daddy when are you coming home?”
I find your dialog entertaining? The NPR spot sent me to your site.

Going through these archives after only hearing of the show a week ago, I have to say its refreshing when Mrs Kev joins in. Not quite the dry passive wit of Scott Mosier but definitley a fun twist tio the proceedings!
Kevin seems to be revealing quite a dark side of jealousy and insecurity though eh?
    Watch out!
Your wife sounds sexy. I won’t spoil that by hunting out any photo’s of her. It is usually preferable to keep the radio voice image in your head than the reality. I’m not saying she’s ugly, just that she’s a stunner already that’s all.
You weren’t a fat bastard until you started goin on and on about it either!

You know rewatching all these old SModcasts I get the inclination that Ken (the guy in charge of the background music) really, really has a thing for anything Beatles related, not that is a bad thing. So far I counted two Beatle songs in this one:

I’ve Got A Felling (Off of the Let It Be album)
The End (Off of the Abbey Road album)

I also remember a SModcast a while back where I heard “Nobody Told Me” (John Lennon) and another SModcast where Getting Better (Sgt. Pepper) was playing during the intro. I like to see my favorite band mixed with one of my favorite writer/directors.

Just to add to the list of female action oriented role models, the most consistently named female action character in top 100 listings is Ellen Ripley, definitively from James Cameron’s Aliens. She carried around a pulse rifle and had a fight with the alien queen in a power armor suit/power loader. I’d say she’s as close to the female John Mclane as it gets.
