Just when I thought all was lost, no new smod, my Threevening disk came in signed by Kevin. Btw Kevin a lot of love goes into that signature – its a K and a line, and an S and a lin with a loop.
I completely understand how you must sign boxes of these things and you don’t want to hear shit about how you get the work done, but c’mon. I think it cost me $9.00 extra for that squiggle now dance monkey dance!

Hey, while we’re looking for subs, I suggest the SUCKCast at http://www.suckcast.com – again, a poor sub.. but its pretty f**king funny.. and really wrong.

As for Smod.. I just wish Kev would give us a heads up somewhere as to when it may be coming back, if its coming back, and that kind of thing.

It would take 30 secs to issue someting here or on silentbobspeaks.com or via myspace to say.. ‘Nope.. not this week.. see you after Christmas” or something like that.

I don’t get why you all feel obligated to having kevin do smodcast I mean they have given us over 67 hours of free entertainment without asking for anything in return if they want to take a couple months off how can you blame them?

That being said I just wish they didn’t end 67 with such a cock tease mentioning the possible free commentary episode that’s kind of a let down

Here’s my thinking… back when Clerks 2 came out, there was supposed to be an “in theater commentary” that you could download to your iPod, and movie theater chains flipped and said “Fuck no!”

My guess is word leaked out, and something similar happend here.

Or maybe they’re just too busy and/or taking a break from SMod.

Dear Tristan,

I don’t think anyone feels SMODCAST should be an obligation for Kevin and Scott. We all love the work they’ve done, and naturally crave more, and should SMOD #67 be the last SMOD I would simply thank them for giving us 67 plus hours of entertainment and move on. However, in the interest of their loyal fans and supporters, who every Monday click on the view askew site in search of their favorite film-making duo, it would be great to know if SMODCAST has gone the way of the dinosaur? Or if the boys are simply on hiatus? I don’t see this as too much of an imposition.

With that said, I would like to wish Kevin all the best in his quest to slim down and get healthy…Good on you sir!

two weeks go by and people start doubting that there will ever be another smodcast? crazy.
i just wish they would do that Zack and Miri commentary smod they were talking about. now it looks like it’s only playing in one theater near me and the possibility of going to the theater with my ipod and listening to the commentary in-theater is just about squashed.
i’m sure there’ll be more smod, but #67 was recorded a few weeks before the flick came out and i’m sure they’ve been busy since it came out.

I hope Kevin loses some weight too, I heard about him breaking the porcelain on his friends toilet (THATS bad). He should try to lose weight for his friends, family and fans and most of all himself. Hes going to need A LOT of support though if he wants to be serious about it.

I loved Zack and Miri Kevin, Ill definately BUY (NOT copy, because i dont mind letting you have some of my hard earned moolah) the DVD when it comes out.

Kev, I caught that shot at Sarah Palin in there with the whole “not a book burner (dinosaurs existed 5,000 years ago)” comment. It doesn’t much matter now, but I just thought I’d point out that Sarah Palin never endorsed the burning or banning of any books, she was simply asking a rhetorical “what-if” question during a speech condemning such actions, and the media took it out of context. But it’s good to see that you’re informed. (That’s sarcasm by the way.)

Vince, Palin DID want to ban books. When the city’s librarian stated that she would NOT be OK with banning books, the librarian was fired. It was only after outrage by the city that the librarian was reinstated. Good to see that YOU’RE informed, though.

I don’t think that Kevin and Scott necessarily owe us smodcast. I don’t think that we deserve a new smod EVERY week. After finishing a full length feature they have every right to take a couple weeks off. Hell, it’s their show, they can take off time whenever they want. I do however, think that there should be some notification that they are taking time off, Ken is the one that mixes smodcast and the one that uploads them to the site. It would be great if Ken could give us some notice of if a new smod is coming or not. Even just a few hours before the regularly scheduled submission time would be nice.

It cracks me up when people say “get a life” when all they have to go off of is that they post on this website and the amusing thing is that the person saying “get a life” is posting on the same website!

We’re all gathered here for one reason= We love Kevin Smiths work and we should at least ATTEMPT to co-exist on the board in peace.

And People CHILL OUT its not up to us to decide when the next smod will be or to try to interpret how Kevin thinks.
Arguing on the internet is kind of pointless it goes nowhere and the majority of the posters who argue and start shit really have short-man-syndrome and they have probably never been in a real fight in their life.

It aggrivates me too that they havent had a smodcast in a long time either, I work full time in a office and smodcast helps the day go by faster and also makes me laugh my arse off but theres not a damn thing that you or i or anyone else than Kevin that can decide whats going to happen.
Personally, I dont think that smodcast is over. Its really not that unusual for Kevin to occassionally be late on releasing a smodcast so dont stress.

Not only is that not true, but even *she* doesn’t claim that. Her claim is that she asked a rhetorical “what-if” question to the librarian, several times, and then tried to fire her because she didn’t like the answers (“No, I would not ban books because you ask me to”).

If you can hear that and believe that she was not interested in banning books, there’s nothing I can say that will convince you otherwise, but I would love to hear the logic that explains why she would bring it up at all if she wasn’t interested in it.

“Sarah, what would you do if I molested your child? Hey, don’t worry, I’m not interested in doing it, I just want to know what you would say if I did it.”

FWIW, Zack and Miri was a huge disappointment for me. Had its moments, would be impossible for a Kevin Smith movie not to. But i don’t know, it was just a very stale affair for me. It was like Kevin Smith trying to make a Judd Appatow movie, your better than that Kevin. And really, the cussing Indian guy? He’s a funny dude, but we seen the exact same skit in 40 Year Old Virgin.
