SModcast is the meandering palaver of a pair of dudes whose voices are so dull, they don’t deserve to be on the radio (and, hence, aren’t). Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier are SModcast. The best thing about SModcast? It don’t cost nothing.
SModcast 62: The Human Quilt –
In which our heroes accost a rocker in the cereal aisle, get unruly on a plane, fear the wrath of a pent-up Paul Bunyan, and go to the movies.
[CONTENT WARNING] SModcast features harsh language and even harsher notions of propriety. Listener discretion is advised.

I love, so much, when you go into the hypothetical character scenarios. Haha. Foreigner, brilliant.

oh snap

im just a little curious. Not including the first edit, Were all the musical references (as in singing “feel like the first time”) edited to land precisely on the background music lyrics or was that dumb luck? Because you two even got the timing right (listen to scott from around 5:00 to 5:30). the background song has been playing for a while but he’s still landing it… though not in tune. In smods from christmas past you say that the music is mixed in after the fact…. so… props to you two.

scott was on fire
August 26th, 2008 at 7:17 am
After learning of Scott’s general hatred of movies, it would be interesting to know for the nex smodcat what his top 10 films of all time are.
August 26th, 2008 at 10:09 am
You seriously need to produce your own series of biography’s and behind the music’s – the alternate lives of celebrities – with the two of you role playing the highlights; it could be great. Two members of Foreigner were American’s and three were British. The lead singer, Lou Gramm, is from Rochester, NY (Mick Jones was British but he was the guitarist) although I really enjoyed Scott’s version and his accent was awesome! Scott why do you insist that you’re not an actor? I would pay good money to watch the “Angry Canadian” or what you could do with Peter Wolf buying tires at Costco.
August 26th, 2008 at 5:03 pm
I was just about to post that Lou was from Rochester and someone beat me to it.
I’m from rochester, and we have a much different accent hahaha
August 26th, 2008 at 6:35 pm

Have to say i’ve had HDTV for quite awhile it is amazing.
Kevin check out Blade Runner on Blu Ray – it is awesome.
August 26th, 2008 at 9:23 pm
poor poor Kevin!!!Awwwww…he can’t get all his fucking channels in HDTV…make me wanna cry kevin!!! Poor kevin has to watch TV on his 2000 inch TV and its not up to HIS standards!!! I feel sorry for his cable provider’s customer service having to put up with his shitty complaints that the whole fucking world is not in HDTV!!!!!!
uh..sorry, bad day
Didn’t Scott’s British Mick (Lou) sound a lot like Nigel of Spinal Tap? fucking hilarious!!!!!!
August 26th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
Thats awesome that you guys talked about the giant Paul Bunyon and Babe. It’s actually located in Klamath, California. Which is like an hour away from the Oregon border.
August 26th, 2008 at 10:26 pm

August 27th, 2008 at 12:53 pm
They can never go wrong with the roleplaying. Great episode.
August 27th, 2008 at 8:18 pm
Mosier has been in rare and wonderful form lately. I would pay good money to see Mosier star (in a dual role) as Angry Canadian Guy and Guy From Foreigner in a road trip movie. Kev, will you write this for us? 😉

this smod is in serious contention to being named as my favorite one!! scott always cracks me up and everytime kev broke the imaginary 4th wall, by trying to call out Mos, he just plowed though that too!! it was awesome!
so here’s what cracked me personally up THE most…. during the little bit when scott was being the lead singer of Foriener…. (haha i laugh thinking about it!) kevin says something to the effect of why would you sing your own songs in public…. you get paid to do that, why would you do it for free?? (i know i cant quote him right now but its close enough) the FIRST thing i thought of was how funny is it that kevin and scott do smod cast weekly and its free, its essentially the same thing! and i laughed for a bit thinking baout that
finally, to the dude who was talking about rochester, i didnt really read all you wrote, i live in rochester and pleeeease dont use shitty ass wegmans as our one claim to fame!! wegmans sucks the sack! no one really goes there any more! if anything the biggest claim to rochester’s fame would be the garbage plate!! anyone who doesnt know what those are, well you havent really lived yet then!! try to google “garbage plate” and if you want to know more, let me know ill fill you in!!
August 28th, 2008 at 2:19 pm

August 31st, 2008 at 11:34 pm
where da new smod?
August 31st, 2008 at 11:36 pm
p.s. long-winded, repetitive sketches are boring. Blabbing on in bad accent is not funny for 25 minutes.
September 1st, 2008 at 11:32 am

The place with the big Paul Bunyan and Babe statues that Mosier was talking about is in Klamath, California at The Trees of Mystery.
September 2nd, 2008 at 2:13 pm
Wait until Mottola’s ‘Adventureland’ comes out – complete with a Foreigner cover band.
September 3rd, 2008 at 8:41 pm
About the giant “guy” with the dna thing flipped….I think you are thinking of Yao Defen…..a woman in china that is almost 8 ft tall. There was a discovery channel special on here a month or so ago.

I hate to admit this, but in a flashback to my teenage years, I attended a Bryan Adams concert this summer and Foreigner was the opening act. I think they do have a “new” album out with one new song.
