At first, when I read the words . . . I didn’t comprehend them. I couldn’t connect the dots. “What??!!, I was just speaking about him with my mom the day before last.” Luckily, I got to see Carlin perform live. He was THE MASTER. This is VERY sad news indeed.

George was the kind of person, everybody felt that they knew. 😐

Carlin was just a man, that is what he would want to be thought of as, not the comedic god that he was. If you understood what he was saying it was almost always about common sense. Think about why you do what you do and fuck-em if they can’t take a joke. He will be truly missed and in lou of Smod, I’m going to find some Carlin. Smoke’em if you gott’em.

See – that’s just it. We’re not bitching. (ok maybe bryce was but the rest of us wasn’t). I mean all we said was that after a while we had to turn it off because it wasn’t our cup o’ tea. And seriously, I don’t _hate_ you for having a cute daughter but you can’t possibly understand the sheer amount of “me too” feeling you get after a while 🙂

And like this “human rights” moron pointed out, we could’ve started criticizing Kevin for taking Harley to this “KÃ¶rperwelten” exhibit, if we really wanted to behave like assholes 😉 Which we don’t. Because Kevin is displaying good parenting when he _TALKS_ with his kid bout it. That’s what so many people don’t get – it’s like with “This film is not rated yet”. All those people yelling for “bad” movies to be not given a rating for sex/violence et. cetera. IMHO only talk to each other but not their kids. It’s just awesome to see that Harley is totally ok with the display of dead people. I was in Vegas when it was there and the guy who makes these things comes from germany so I had plenty of occasions where I _could_ have gone and see his displays but I myself just can’t take it. Still I don’t yell for them to be taken down nor does it really interest me that the guy who made them only has a doctorate from China and that the donated bodies mostly come from there.

I mean it’s hilarious when you know that people in chinese coal mines are virtually digging with their hands that people care more about dead people from china than the actual living.

Again, I think the podcast was great for him, for Harley, for everyone who has kids and I guess for everyone who is currently totally happy and wants kids. But but “our” main concern is that if we don’t say that we actually turned it off after a while because our teeth hurt from all the cuteness it might seem that the audience (all of them) loved it so much that we want more soon. Which isn’t really the case 🙂

Absolutely loved this Smodcast! Harley Quinn is one of the sweetest, brightest kids I’ve heard. After working at a video store for way to long a while back, kids were apart of my disgruntling. I would have been glad instead of sad to watch customer’s kids if they’d been more like Harley.

Plus, you’re so involved in your kid’s life that it made my heart ache a little. You not only saw her school productions, you remember the songs she sang. Divorced, absent, deadbeat dads like mine need to take a page from your dad playbook!

Remembering Carlin– I discovered Carlin about age seven when I went through my mom’s albums. Oak Ridge Boys, Willie Nelson, Julio Iglesias… and a guy doing odd poses, inside the cover, the same guy sitting on a toilet. I thought it was weird that my mom would have an album with a jacket like that, so I put the record on. Imagine the delight of my innocent, seven-year-old brain when I heard every bad word I’d ever imagined saying all in one record. I listened to the entire album straight through. Where the hell was my mom during that hour when my vocabulary was forever corrupted?
RIP, George. Thanks for everything.

Christ, most of you should be smacked across the face. If ya haven’t realized that SModCast is something that Mosier and Kevin put together so they could have some fun. You should just be happy that they even take the time to record it for us. If Kevin wants to do a whole episode with his daughter so be it, it’s their creation and I doubt you idiots spewing on about how bored you were will change anything. Not to mention it was fathers day for God sake, he should be able to do what the hell he wants, especially on that day.

I completely understand the logic that Kevin Smith had when doing this cast but I couldn’t listen to it. I listen to Smodcast for childish yet intelligent vulgar comedy. If I want to listen to someone interacting with their child I’ll go visit my sister. Now, in Kevins defence….who gives a fuck what I say about the cast, who gives a fuck what anyone of us say about it….It’s his show so he calls the shots. I just can’t wait for the next Smodcast now because I am going through withdraw.

God forbid Kevin set aside ONE fucking special podcast to do with his daughter for father’s day. Maybe he cares more about his flesh and blood than impressing some goddamn fanboi(s). Was it the typical vulgarity and absurd stories as the other smodcasts? no, but it was an intimate and special moment he was sharing with the kid, and who are any of you to begrudge him?

For fuck’s sake. Some of you people I swear if you were in hell and someone gave you ice cream you’d complain that it didn’t have sprinkles.

I dunno, Brian. Kevin’s M/O in the past has been to cut scenes together as he goes. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the editing work is already done, save for a little sound work and some potential clean-up. In fact, I’m not sure of the exact release date, but I think it’s less than six months away … end of October, according to IMDB.

I feel ya on the complainers, though. Free or not, criticism is one thing, but it takes a real dick to slam a guy’s kid. Funny thing, though … don’t see anybody doing that, really.

It kinda begs the question “Who’s doing more harm: the guy who’s bitching, or the guy who’s bitching about the people who supposedly bitch?”

I hate to say it, Brian, but that makes you wrong twice in one post. I’d even argue that you seem to be the “Malcom” of this group.

I know this is almost completely pointless, but I am just trying ease the minds of those who mis interpreted my first comment which I admit reading again does make me sound like a very large shithead. I love SModcast it’s in the top 3 of the 10 or 11 podcasts I listen to regularly and most a quite a few times(http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/2668/smodfastkt1.jpg)

I respect Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier as entertainers as well as kick-ass dudes just as much as my fellow SModcasters. I was trying to and failed miserably obviously to say that this just wasn’t what I was really wanting at the time. I mean it is his show he can do whatever he wants with whomever he wants, so what some dickhead (me) comes on and (slightly)bashes it. I wasn’t trying to say SModcast is now tainted and shitty from his daughter being on, or that this was the shittiest excuse of podcasting ever(which are not my feelings what so ever. I hope the show goes on for another year and many to follow that. Hope this cleared up some stuff and took me off a couple red lipsticked peoples hit list. (woah was that a shitty Billy Maddision ref?

Oh and I’m 15 turning 16 in a couple weeks, I was saying my family has 6 kids in it including me, me being the oldest. So I have 2 shotgun barrels full of fun with them 24/7, so hopefully this shed some light on why I didn’t particularly love this here ep, but blissfully awaiting 55!
