SModcast is the meandering palaver of a pair of dudes whose voices are so dull, they don’t deserve to be on the radio (and, hence, aren’t). Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier are SModcast.
The best thing about SModcast? It don’t cost nothing.
SModcast 42: SMerry Christmas –
In which our heroes ring those silver bells in celebration of the holidays, chatting up all things related to the season, from the little baby Jesus to Conan the Barbarian.
[CONTENT WARNING] SModcast features harsh language and even harsher notions of propriety. Listener discretion is advised.

Actually George, SModcast would suck without Kevin. If anyone is on it, Smith and Mosier have to be on as well. Bring on Mewes, although I am sure most people only want the Mewes we know from the movies and that might be too much pressure to try to be something. i say, talk about Canada more. or, Seth Rogan, or hatred for Tim Burton. How about Cloverfield? I am sure the interweb geek in Kevin Smith has some interest in Cloverfield.

…just wanted to thank the poscast Medispective (a video game show) for mentioning the SModcast. I love it.

Can’t wait for the next smodcast. It really is one of the highlights of my week. And since people correcting you is such a huge part of Smodcast I wanted to let you guys know that Cimmeara the homeland of Conan is pronounced with a hard C (K sound).

Awesome smodcast, listened to this one and the Honkey one on my drive back to school.
I also realized something as bad as the N word…or at least I’ve been told it is. Apparently “Midget” is equivalent to N—–… Never knew that.

I don’t know if this is up here but I keep getting mad because the keep saving Jesus was born in December. He was actually born in July. December 25 was chosen to cover up a pagan holiday. Even the St Nicholas thing happened on December 6 not the 25th. Just thought I would clear that up for everyone. It is one more thing for smikipedia.

I think Jen, Malcolm, Dave, Walt, Mewes, etc. are all just as lively and interesting as Kevin is and would love to hear what they have to say without Kev around. He’s a sparkplug and brings a ton of electricity to the broadcast but he can also be overwhelming at times. Just my opinion.
I do have to agree though. After Superman, the infamous Planet of the Apes story and then Kevin putting Sweeney Todd in Jersey Girl I was curious if there’d be another tongue in cheek “Burton on my coat tails” moment.

Yes we want number 43! Im nothing without it…and I feel that SModcast would be nothing without Kevin. Walt and Bryan are my favorite guests but its still much better with Scott. I three way with the S&M of SModcast and either Walt, or Bryan…or both, would be amazing
SMoochie boochie ya’ll.

I love smodcast, Kev and Mos have very interesting conversations with a noticeable ease, and for as low brow as they can be, they are still super witty and intelligent…. Keep up the good times. Looking forward to the new flick, best of luck with production. Seth Rogan is way funny.. Come to Lancaster, pa sometime.
Go Amish, or go home!

Absolutely the best podcast or collection meanderings snip its of information I have on my ipod. Brilliant and even better the the amazing correlation between the birth of Christ and Conan the barbarian was not short and hilarious and awesome.
Cheers to Scott and Kevin!!! Please keep it up in 08′

Started listening to smodcast after hearing a mention of it from Kevin on OnA. Have been hooked since. It’s nice to kick up my feet and relax with a little less PC than society demands. Thanks to Scott, Kevin and all involved including their families for the time they take to put this out. Binghamton, NY.

I just discovered your podcast and am currently listening to your latest one. I’m really enjoying it but I thought I could clear something up for you. You were talking about the days between christmas and epiphany and how the kings were late and the crappy gifts that they gave the kid. The Italians have a belief about a woman named La Befana who they see as like santa. Here is a link to the story… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Befana but if you don’t feel like reading it I’ll sum it up for you. The kings got lost and stopped for directions at Befanas house (which is why they were late). She gave them food and shelter for the night and they told her why they were traveling. They invited her to join them but she said no because she was too busy cleaning. She changed her mind after they had left and decided that she wanted to see the kid but she couldn’t find the kings and got lost. There are some stories that say that she made it to the baby and cleans the manger while mary and the baby are resting. Some stories say that she never made it and now she searches the world for the kings. Still others say that she was a woman who lost her child and became delusional when she heard about the baby Jesus, thinking that it was really her kid. She makes it to the baby, gives him gifts and becomes his godmother. So she’s known as the mother of all childern in Italy. She is the one who gives coal (but now it’s rock candy) or sweets and gifts to bad or good kids, not santa. She is usually seen as an old lady riding a broomstick through the air wearing a black shawl and is covered in soot because she enters the children’s houses through the chimney. So there you go, there are some stories about someone cleaning the manger and all the mess that the birth caused and a reason for the kings being late

When are we gonna get Kevin, Scott, and then an additional thrid person? We’ve had I think 5 three people smodcast but none with Scott. I think Scott makes the show and it would be sweet if we got say Scott, Kev and Bryan Johnson. anyways love Smodcast, listened to them all and especially enjoyed the Christmas one. I think that it was funny how Kev was kinda tryin to keep it one Christmas but soon they were talking about Conan. Keep up the good work

January 7th, 2008 at 5:48 pm
Hurry up with the next one, already!! Keep up the good work, fellas!
January 7th, 2008 at 7:01 pm
I hope the reason we aren’t getting a new Smodcast is because you guys are working really hard on the new movie. If not, then turn off the Law & Order ya lazy bums!
January 7th, 2008 at 11:28 pm
I too definitely miss not having a new SModCast…
However, I forgive it ’cause not getting a new one just inspires me to go back to the old ‘uns and marvel at the notion of Bertie Bott’s Beans in Hermionie’s a$$, the love of Max Von Sydow, and think about Good Vibrations.
P.S. Thanks to SModCast for turning me on to RedTube. Yess.

Quick Thoughts dot dot dot:
Hey Smiff & Mose,
Long-time Smodcast listener, first-time caller.
Episode #42: “Hey, let’s all get together on mass and celebrate Christ!” “What, like a ChristMass???”
…kinda reminded me of…
Chasing Amy rewrite: “Hey, let’s give the film a little more scope.” “What, like take the kitchen scene and put it in a fuckin’ hockey rink???”
(quotes may be a little off)
