This is an excellent series and I can remember seeing it as “The Little Rascals” on TV through the early 1980s.

While iCarly is good and the Disney shows are passable, what was on TV in the 1970s — both new and sourced from old theatrical shorts — was in many ways superior to the vast bulk of children’s entertainment being aired today.

I will agree that TV animation today is generally superior to the TV animation produced through the mid-1980s but even that pales to the 1940s and early 1950s theatrical shorts that used to air on TV through the early 1980s.

Kids today are being dumbed down by a combination of low-talent writing, political correctness run amok through entertainment and public schools, and just a general lack of TV programming that isn’t promoting a product or convincing kids that reality TV is a legitimate career path! I remember a time when the programming for preteens in particular wasn’t as condescending and generally IQ-reducing like Dora, Barney, and Teletubbies. Seuss-like sensibilities and imagination used to rule the roost!
