I just don’t understand how you could like Waking Life but not A Scanner Darkly. WTF

I think a little was contrived, but I’m sure that as you get into the podcasting thing more it’ll come more naturally. I also have to chime in with the other comments mentioning that, as a less than interested comic book person, your chatter still interested me and was a fun listen.

Keep it up!

I don’t have any friends that share my not so secret inner geek, so it was cool hearing some other guys talk about stuff I’m into.

Ninja Turtles, loved the original graphic novels by Eastman and Laird, and the first movie was awesome, but I have little love for the sequels.

I really fuckin’ dig the fact that Jesse is Native. My Fiance (Native American) is quite psyched to hear me listen to a hilarious podcast from the fine folks at Quickstop with…a…wait…NATIVE AMERICAN! In full head dress, no less. The fact that you would not only entertain the idea of doing a podcast knowing this nations past relations regarding the first Americans and podcasts but with a Jew…with a bag of money as a necklace!? Progressive podcast. You should change the name to progcast. Yes, now. My stipend sirs. Seriously though, wonderful first show, dedicated new listener!

The fact that you know anything of the jars I leave out as decorum when I have house guests is NONE of your concern! Much less is it to inform all potential friends and nemesis there in of the fact that if there are NO JARS when they visit, then our friendship is probably either a sham or purely of convenience. Thanks guys, thanks a lot…
Forced to seek an alternative “jar”, Patrick

Rocketeer is the greatest comic book movie ever.

@ Virtual-Dark Knight is PG-13

NOWHERE in the cast does it say:

Uzi Wielding Velociraptor # 1

Whole thing sounds questionable if you ask me.

I enjoy “Lady from Shanghai” very much. The last scene is amazing. “Rules of the Game” is also a great film, but we were talking more of general consensus. Have yet to see “Children of Paradise.”

Stay tuneddeveryone. This is just the beginning.

As a pseudo-comic book fan, with very limited knowledge, it’s fun to hear to geeks gab, who know their shit.

I am, however, suspicious of the self-implemented “film buff” tag. First of all, Citizen Kane fuckin’ rocks. But that doesn’t make it the “greatest film of all time” There were a lot of amazing movies that get no recognition outside of the inner-film-community. For instance, Welles’ Lady from Shanghai is arguably a better movie than Kane. There’s just this AFI-propaganda, and people assume there were, like, 5 movies from back in the day. Also, Check out two french movies: The Rules of the Game, and Children of Paradise. Both amazing. Arguably better than Kane. One minor note though: No guns or dinosaurs!

Anyway, great show, looking forward to next week.

I agree with Jesse: No country for Old men was better than There will be blood. The Joker was great, but was also entertaining in a twisted sense. The thing that bugged me was the PG rating. No blood anywhere when people have pencils shoved into their eyes, throats cut, and shot in the gut and supposedly bleeding out on the floor of a bank. Not to mention that the Mob bosses didn’t cuss and sounded like pussies. Should have been PG-13 at least, with blood to fit the dark nature of the film.

Good stuff! I will be back for the next one.

Look forward to hearing more. I too have a high affinity for Ghostbusters and the Ninja Turtles, but as far as the Judd Apatow crew coming on board for the third one, I think that would take fans of the originals out of the movie a little bit. Rogen could be one of the new ones, sure, but he’d have to play a character and not himself for it to work for me. And it might be too much too soon for Rogen, but I think if he changes it up a bit it could work. The Office writers who were hired to write the next Ghostbusters (Lee Isenberg and Gene Stupnitsky) might go a different way than the Apatow crew, but lets see what happens, the movie’s a long ways away. Good stuff guys. See you next podcast.
