The crux of my argument comes back to his song kicks my song’s butt, and I’m not just saying that for sympathy (unless it’ll get me laid).

For one, Jonathan isn’t even in the same standing as you or I. JoCo won last time, and is more famous than anyone else in this competition. People want to vote for the underdogs: we, the challengers.

Another thing: Paul and Storm and The Rifftones did really well. They may have been a tad silly, but JoCo’s had a tad of unintentional silliness. (Giant Oyster?)

Though his song was very nice, it wasn’t quite his best work in my opinion. And, being fans of his, you or I can’t really judge that well. (For example, my friend who loves the Clash will love every song by the Clash, because it’s the Clash.)

I personally voted for Jonathan, too, but I completely understand why he might not win. A majority of JoCo fans love Paul and Storm, and if they find one song by JoCo which they don’t particularly love, the catchiness of a P&S song would attract them.

Paul and Storm (or DaVinci’s Notebook) have had a good long taste of fame for a while there. In Junior High, everyone I knew sang their big hit,

Well, this is how I see it, but do you see where I’m coming from here? To each his own, either way.
(also, It won’t show me how many people voted on the masters’ songs, so I can’t tell the significance of the difference.)

I also think that it’s better to listen and vote for who you like best than just vote for your friend/relative … Which is also a reason why I haven’t spread the word around, hence leading to a low vote count (and also because I don’t think my song’s worth of getting me through to the next round, since I didn’t do a very good job).

I’d really like to thank everyone who’s taken the time to listen and vote, regardless of whomever you voted for. To me, the important thing is that you listen. I know a lot of people just come at the behest of their friends and they just come, click and go (which would explain why the votes for the new kids outweigh the votes for the Masters), but to all of you who’ve taken the time to listen to a few tunes, you totally rock. The indie music world really needs more people like you.
