For the most part I agree but with a few minor quibbles.

First, Lazarus most definitely does make the movie.

Second, as far as Stiller and Black go, I had a hard time seeing the characters and not the actors when either of those two were on screen. That, for me, was the only criticism I’ve had of the film. Still, for those who have jumped on the bandwagon of being sick of Stiller and/or Black’s brand(s) of comedy, don’t fear, the movie stands up great on its own. Only occasionally do they resort to the familiar and typical Stiller playing stupid or Black acting loud and outlandish we’ve grown accustomed to. The fact that those roles are lampooned makes it all okay anyway.

Third, Stiller’s direction was first-rate and worthy of more praise than you offer. Who knew that guy had such action scenes in him? Imagine if he had directed a real war movie.
