I’m still in the progress of listening, but I just wanted to mention that the person Johnny Appleseed was based on was named John Chapman.

He’s a distant cousin of mine on my paternal grandmother’s side.

I know nothing else about him except that. But he was a real person.

This might sound strange, and I wish I was making it up, but Smodcast makes my sex life better. Me and my guy, I’ll call him Al, because he would kill me if he knew I told anyone about this, anyway, me and Al used to listen to Smodcast as we were falling asleep every night. Of course, that’s not all that happened when we were in bed at night, so we had a lot of sex with Smodcast in the background. Eventually, this led to some kind of Pavlovian response every time we put on Smodcast, and as soon as it started, we would start fucking like crazy. The whole “Smodfast” was killing us and we checked every day for a new episode, while listening to the same ones over and over. Anyway, Al had to move away for a little while, and we decided to wait until we saw each other again to listen to the new episodes. So this week, we had 4 hours of Smodcast to listen to in one night!! It’s been 2 days, and I still can’t walk right… so thanks!

i downloaded this smodcast but only 16 mintues of it will download. ive tried twice but it will only download 16 minutes. has anyone else had this problem or know why it is happenning?

You have found your seahorse moment…I listen to a podcast about Heroes (Primatech Paper Postcast) and they define a seahorse moment as such:
Seahorse Moment – the moment in a work of fiction, especially scifi, beyond which one can no longer suspend disbelief. The term originated from an experience watching the episode â€œSurf Monkeys Must Diveâ€ of the 1990s cartoon â€œCaptain Simian and the Space Monkeys.â€ The idea of self-aware monkeys flying around the galaxy in a spaceship, with a floating, glowing ball who made smart-ass comments all the time, was fine, as was the idea in that particular episode that the monkeys could breathe underwater; however, the idea that giant seahorses could tow an island was met with incredulity.

by the way Kevin During the second world war German Jews (as well as other jews) were often refused entry into neighboring European countries and also the United States and Canada. In fact after World War 2 ended surviving Polish Jews, having escaped the fate of 90 percent of their community â€” three million people â€” returned to their homeland to be vilified, terrorized and, in some 1,500 instances, murdered, sometimes in ways as bestial as anything the Nazis had devised. Poland was unfortunatly not the only place of popular jewish racism at that time as another famous story went something like a couple thousand jews were able to escape the horrors of world war 2 and escape by boat to cuba where they had leagaly aquired visas, however upon ariving they were not allowed to unload their ship of pasengers because they were jewish. So these refugees sailed to America where leagaly they should have been allowed to land because of their visas. This was not the case because ounce again, anti semitisim reared its head. So out of supplies and hope in the new world, they sailed back to europe and were caught by the nazis where most were then sent back to, and murdered in the death camps. Also Anne Frank and the people she was hiding with were caught by the nazis because they had been betrayed by a non-jew who notified the nazis of there wearabouts.

Heya Gents,

I do love me some smodcast, am back listening to some older ones right now (37) and you were talking about bandwidth kicking you a$$.
One of the things you could try is dropping your sample rate, two dudes talking does not need 128Kbps and sure does not not need 44Khz. If you drop them and experiment with sound you are still happy with you could save a lot.

And your plan to release one week staggered but on the same day does not seem like a plan, launch on quickstop on a Sunday and then on a Wednesday when traffic has fallen on iTunes and I think you are home free.

just a heads up from Australia, few podcast ago, about the incest shit, its fucked up man. We are not all like that. Well i can really only vouch for myself on the matter. Fucking good podcasts. Hahaha and also no Kiwi’s dont have that similar accent to ours its more south african than anything….im not going to lie i do like the smodcasts better than the q & a’s. Man next movie you should throw australia into it. Cos that would be fucking sick as. And shitdog brother, i have a pressing issue for you bro, do you think Australians are like canadians? like wats teh view on australia by americans? and no we dont always have fucking bbqs. but like steriotype that we love the beers isnt being helped by some dick head in the NT got arrested for having a carton of beer in the front seat with the seat belt on and the baby in the back rolling around.
