Whats with rebecca and becks?

Great to listen in on the man engaged on a non-comedic, non-pained level.

Perhaps you are a bit full on, but you know your shit and he obviously trusted your angle, which is what counted.

As a trained journalist I wss fairly appalled at the lack of journalism going on here. It was very self-serving on the part of the interviewer who seemed to consider himself very amusing and interesting. We wanted to read David’s thoughts not yours. It sounded like David was being given the hard-sell. This was an interview, not a pitch. The poor guy had to do a lot of listening: ‘mmm’, ‘yes’ ‘right’. The interviewer came across as a bit immature: like a teenage show-off who likes the sound of his own voice. Despite that – I enjoyed the (few) responses where David was able to get a word in edgeways.

Tedious. A good interviewer/journalist would have realised that a lot of this was superfluous and made for a mundanely long read. The long-winded format with lots of “yeah”s is more suited to video.

Brilliant interview! A very nice look into David’s perceptions of the British broadcasting system. Excellent excellent job. I was wondering how the interview was set up? Was it through his agent? B/c we have a sketch comedy radio show down this way that has been looking to make some interviews along these lines.

Again hats off for an awesome interview.

This is by far the best interview with David Mitchell that I’ve read. I am astonished to find that I actually learned something out of an interview that had nothing to do with dating habits and favorite flavor of ice cream. This was a wonderful glimpse into British television and the structure of British comedy. Thank you for an amazing read.
